Trees Cocooned in Spiders Webs

An unexpected side-effect of the fl00ding in parts of Pakistan has been that millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters. Because of the scale of the fl00ding and the fact that the water has taken so long to recede, many trees have become cocooned in spiders webs. People in this part of Sindh have never seen this phenonemon before – but they also report that there are now less mosquitos than they would expect, given the amoungt of stagnant, standing water that is around. It is thought that the mosquitos are getting caught in the spiders web thus reducing the risk of malaria, which would be one blessing for the people of Sindh, facing so many other hardships after the fl00ds. Beautiful Place In China — Shanxi

Shanxi province is a beautiful place in China. It looks fantastic and truly amazing on these photos. Shanxi Province got its name due to its location to the west of Taihang Mountain. Shanxi neighbored on Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia & Autonomous Region. It is located to the east of the Yellow River, and is also known as Hedong. Shanxi belonged to Jin State in Spring and Autumn Period, so it is abbreviated in Jin. Shanxi occupies an area of 156,000 square kilometers and has a population of over 32 million, including its minority ethnic population. Its capital is Taiyuan City. More images after the break...

Mosque of Sheikh Zayd

Mosque of Sheikh Zayd - one of the six largest mosques in the world, is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates. Named in honor of Sheikh Zaid ibn Sultan al-Nahyan - the founder and first president of the United Arab Emirates. Next he is buried. The mosque was officially opened in the month of Ramadan in 2007. Like all of the Emirates, this mosque is also very-very - it is the largest carpet and the world's largest chandelier. Blue River - Petermann Glacier

Petermann - the largest floating glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, located in north-western Greenland. Petermann - glacier, forming icebergs. Glacier joins the Greenland ice sheet with the Arctic Ocean. Sign Post Forest of Watson Lake — Alaska

The bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 was the incident that started one of the greatest engineering feats of the century! With the threat of the Japanese invasion during World War II, the Alaska Highway was built. It provided a supply route from Alaska to the lower forty-eight states. The highway starts at mile "0", located at Dawson Creek, British Columbia, and ends at Delta Junction, Alaska. The White Sands National Monument is a U.S. National Monument located about 25 km (15 miles) southwest of Alamogordo in western Otero County and northeastern Dona Ana County in the state of New Mexico, at an elevation of 4235 feet (1291 m).
